# Working with files

Comind.work supports uploading, attaching, and editing files across your workspaces and apps.

Add files directly to your workspace using the File app.

**Upload options:**

* drag and drop files directly into the File app
* use the upload button to browse and select files
* upload entire folder structures to maintain organization
* support for all common file types including documents, images, and media

## Attach files to records[​](#attach-files-to-records "Direct link to Attach files to records")

Link files to specific records for better organization and context.

**How to attach files:**

* select files from your File app to attach to any record
* upload new files directly when creating or editing records
* access attached files directly from record views (see [file previews and attachments](/user-guide/app-record/file-previews-and-attachments.md))

## Paste images into content[​](#paste-images-into-content "Direct link to Paste images into content")

Insert images directly into text fields and content areas. For details on how pasted images appear in records, see [images in the rich text editor](/user-guide/app-record/rich-text-editor.md#images).

**Image handling:**

* paste screenshots and images directly from clipboard
* automatically stores pasted images in your workspace
* maintains image quality and formatting
* supports common image formats (PNG, JPG, GIF)

## Edit Office documents in place[​](#edit-office-documents-in-place "Direct link to Edit Office documents in place")

Open and edit Office documents directly from Comind.work using [WebDAV](/user-guide/common-features/webdav-and-office-editing.md):

* Open Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files in their desktop applications
* Edit documents without downloading to your local machine
* Changes save back to Comind.work automatically

Connect to your Comind.work files using standard file system protocols:

* **Web folders** - access files through your browser's file system integration
* **WebDAV** - mount Comind.work storage as a network drive for use with desktop applications
