Integrate email communication directly with your Comind workflows to create records, respond to notifications, and manage attachments seamlessly.

Responding to email notifications

Reply directly to email notifications to continue conversations within Comind:

  • Seamless integration - your email responses appear as new comments in the associated record
  • Attachment handling - any files attached to your email are automatically included in the record
  • Smart parsing - apps can analyze email content to trigger automatic actions
  • Action automation - keywords in email subject or body can trigger status changes (e.g., "reopen" task, set priority to "high")

Creating records via email

Generate new records by sending emails to designated addresses:

  • Email-to-record - send emails to create tasks, tickets, or other record types
  • Automatic creation - emails sent to app-specific addresses automatically generate new records
  • Address configuration - find the email address in app list settings under "Advanced" section

File attachment processing

Email attachments are automatically handled and integrated:

  • Comment attachments - files attached to notification responses are added to the comment section
  • Record attachments - files in new record emails are attached to the created record
  • File management - all attachments are stored and accessible within the Comind file system

Using custom email addresses

Configure your own domain email addresses for professional communication:

Setup process

  1. Get the email address - locate the email address in app list / settings / advanced / email to app
  2. Choose implementation - either use the provided email address directly or create your own and forward to it
  3. Forward configuration - set up forwarding from your custom address (e.g., helpdesk@my-domain.com) to the Comind address (cmw+....@comindwork.com)

Workspace user emails

  • Automatic ticket creation - emails from workspace participants are automatically converted to tickets
  • Attachment inclusion - all email attachments are preserved in the created records
  • Notification responses - users can reply to notifications, and responses are added to the respective tickets
  • Smart parsing - configure the app to automatically determine ticket type, priority, and other attributes from email content

Accepting emails from external users

Enable non-registered users to create records via email:

Configuration

  1. Add unauthenticated user - add "Unauth User" to the necessary workspace
  2. Permission respect - emails from non-registered users are processed under this user's permissions
  3. Automatic following - the sender's email address is added as a follower of the created record
  4. Ongoing communication - external users receive notifications about record updates and can respond to continue the conversation
