Split view

Split view displays a list and a record form side by side. You can browse records in the list on the left and view or edit the selected record on the right - without leaving the list.

Opening split view​

Toggle split view from the list toolbar. The system remembers your preference for each app, so you only need to set it once.

  • Full-list mode - the list takes up the entire screen. Click a record to open it in a full page.
  • Split mode - the list appears on the left and the record form appears on the right.

Working with records in split view​

Click any record in the list to open it in the right panel. You can switch between records quickly while keeping your list context.

  • Scroll position and filter state are preserved when you switch records
  • Filters and faceted filtering continue to work alongside split view
  • Related records can be opened from the form panel using standard navigation
  • Breadcrumbs show your current position within the app

Unsaved changes warning​

If you have unsaved changes in the form panel and click a different record, Comind displays a confirmation prompt. Choose to save your changes, discard them, or stay on the current record.

Layout and sizing​

The split view divides the screen between the list and the form panel. The width ratio adjusts based on your screen size to keep both panels usable.

  • On wide screens, the form panel gets more space for comfortable editing
  • On standard screens, the layout balances space between the list and the form
  • The system avoids unnecessary record refreshes when you switch between list views

Responsive behavior​

Split view adapts to your screen width automatically.

  • On narrow screens, split view is disabled and records open in full-page mode instead
  • On mobile devices, full-page navigation is used exclusively
  • When you return to a wider screen, your split view preference is restored
